Shana Reiss, LCSW
EMDR Therapist

Hi, I'm Shana, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and EMDR therapist. I help adults move through trauma, anxiety, and the things that keep you feeling stuck, so you can feel more like yourself again.

My approach

I believe healing happens when we treat the whole person, mind and body together. So much of what brings people to therapy doesn't live only in our thoughts; it lives in the body, in long-held patterns, and in experiences that never quite had the chance to resolve. My work begins from the belief that there is nothing wrong with you. You are carrying experiences that deserve care, and with the right support, the mind and body have a remarkable capacity to heal. EMDR is at the heart of my practice, and I draw on DBT, CBT, and mindfulness so that our work fits you, not the other way around.

What working together feels like

Therapy works best when you feel safe, and that's where we begin. Our early sessions are about getting to know each other, understanding what brought you in, and building a sense of safety and steadiness before we move toward anything difficult. There's no rush. You stay in control throughout, and we only move toward harder material once you have the tools to feel grounded. My role is to walk alongside you offering structure, attunement, and a steady presence while honoring that you are the expert on your own life.
